About Our Products
A few disclaimers of all natural handmade soap. This is a natural product! So-called soap that you buy in the stores nowadays contains detergents, pesticides and chemicals, these are made to lather and give an appearance of getting you clean. This is not really the case.
These “soaps” are made with chemicals that are actually harmful to us. My soap is not.
I use oil and lye. Of course we all want it to smell good and look pretty so I also use a combination of essential oils, fragrance oils, natural coloring (like from spices) and soap coloring. Real handmade soap may not lather like what you are used to (some do and some don’t), but it is getting you clean without stripping your skin of its natural oils.
Did you know that Your skin is the largest organ of your body and whatever you put on it will penetrate it in 8 seconds! (thanks Angel Rude for those fun facts!)
Back to the oil and lye....ALL REAL SOAP IS MADE WITH LYE. There is then a chemical reaction in which the oils “eat” the lye and saponification occurs, creating soap. Waa Laa!
My soap is cold process soap, which means that after I make it, I leave it to cure in the open air for a minimum of 4 weeks before it is for sale. This means that I may put soaps online that are up and coming, meaning it is made, but needs to cure the full 4 weeks. I know, it’s hard for me to wait too.
All my soap is completely handmade. This means that all bars are not alike. Most of the square or rectangular bars are weighed as I cut them and will weigh between 3.5 to 4.5 ounces or sometimes more. While we do our best to keep our products page as close to updated as possible the picture may not match the soap exactly as new batches not always look the same, but it will be pretty close. How you store your soap is also very important. Soaps need a well-drained surface, meaning they don’t like to sit in water or they will become a jellied mess. If you treat your soap right it will last a very long time. My bars in my home generally last several months, and with 5 of us here using them constantly, now that is something!!

100% ALL-NATURAL SOAP
All soap is a mixture of oils, lye and liquid. When combined, it results in soap + glycerin. The big difference is what happens from here.
Commercial Soap
NO GLYCERIN
Driven by profits, commercial soap producers remove the vegetable glycerin and sell it at a higher markup in other products (like lotion).
HARSH CHEMICALS ADDED
To create more lather without the glycerin, harsh chemicals are added such as SLS (causes skin irritation) and parabens (linked to cancer).
The Antler Shed Soaps
NATURAL GLYCERIN
In our handmade soap, the glycerin is retained in the bar, and combines with coconut, olive and other high quality oils to nourish your skin.
FREE OF HARSH CHEMICALS
Cold process soap has no need to add harsh chemicals. The result? Happy, healthy skin. You will feel the difference and never go back.
Thanks so much, our family really puts our heart into this!
